About

Stefan combines art, science and technology, seeking for new aesthetics and approaches to address current social and ecological challenges. As a designer in transformation processes, he leverages his knowledge to support environments for new beginnings.

Key to his practice is a material, experience and process based methodology. Adressing gut and mind, he creates both physical and metaphorical spaces to open up new narratives and realms for exploration.

Stefan fosters social cohesion and inclusive futures on a hyperlocal scale while sharing his expertise in social sciences and future studies to tackle global questions.

He studied at Burg Giebichenstein Halle, École supérieure d'art d'Aix-en-Provence and Royal College of Art London in MA Design Interactions.

From 2012-2021, he taught and researched in the New Media Class at UdK Berlin and was visiting professor for Designing Systems at Burg Giebichenstein Halle from 2016-2017.
Stefan exhibited at Science Gallery Dublin, V&A London, Design Museum London, Nationalmuseum Stockholm, Dutch Design Week, Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, Heimtextil Frankfurt, Santral Istanbul, Ars Electronica Festival and Grand Palais Paris.
