Three weeks before the final presentation of the semester project we went on a journey to Iceland. We chose Iceland due to its ecological, geological and climatic qualities as a real-live experimental environment, where the students could attain a change of perspective, contextualise their work, experiment and relocate their mindsets.

The students were also confronted with the physical limitations of a flight and the mobility on site. Therefore they had to plan the trip conceptionally as well as from a logistic perspective.
A general thought behind the trip was that an engagement with the journey would aid in etching out the core intention of the project. The aim was to motivate the students to abstracise their topics and to translate them into the context of Iceland.

We stayed five days in a rural hut to explore the coutryside. At the end of the week, we spent two days in Rejkyavik and presented our works at the Iceland Academy of the Arts.
